John D Morgan Park Play Area, Campbell CA

Guided by City Council and the Community John D. Morgan Park is an inclusive, nature-forward play experience inspired by the site’s mature grove. Our team worked closely with the City of Campbell and community stakeholders to shape a design that supports diverse abilities and play styles. The playground features multi-level accessible structures embraced by an earthen berm, sensory play elements, and universally accessible paths and seating. Despite significant underground constraints, we preserved key trees and utilities while creating a seamless, barrier-free environment that welcomes all children and families. This project establishes a new standard for inclusive public play in Northern California, including the area’s first PECS communication board for non-verbal users.
